An Introduction

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:10-11

When our kids were young, we would give them money to buy gifts for their siblings. They didn’t have any means, but they had the desire to give good gifts. So with my money, in my car, in my counsel and care, they would give gifts. Simple enough, right? While it is true that Angi and I are not the most intentional theologians as all that, there is a profound truth hidden in that moment. God has given good gifts to his kids to be useful for the blessing and edification of his other kids.

The intention of the Deep Waters devotional is a weekly offering of a simple reflection on the Psalms. LCC is made up of children of God with good gifts from our Father and desire to express the deep waters of their heart in everyday life. Devotional Editor, Chat Baron, says this about our authors and their reflections, “this devotional was written by ordinary men and women who have tasted the saving grace of Jesus and the intent is to glorify God by sharing their meditations of the Psalms. The Psalms are a book of beautiful, prayerful poetry meant to draw our hearts to God’s love and greatness, whether we are lamenting or rejoicing, seeking or being sought, resting or toiling, suffering or feasting.”

May this collection of God’s good gifts be a blessing to any who read them. May the Spirit use them to draw your heart to Himself.
